We’re excited to introduce and welcome Cansu Canca to our blogging community as a regular contributor.
Cansu received her Ph.D. (2012) in philosophy from the National University of Singapore with a thesis on the ethics of buying and selling organs from the living. Currently, she is a visiting fellow at the Petrie-Flom Center as well as the project coordinator for Low and Middle Income Countries at the Fogarty International Research Ethics Initiative in Turkey and Central Asia. She earned her B.A. (2005) and M.A. (2007) in philosophy from Boğaziçi University (Istanbul). She was a visiting researcher at the Medical Ethics Department of Osaka University and at the Program in Ethics and Health at Harvard University, and an intern at the World Health Organization.
Alongside with philosophy, she also pursued her interest in media completing a minor degree in Film Studies, writing for various publications, and hosting a radio show as well as working in a national newspaper and TV channel.
Cansu’s research interests include research ethics, Kantian ethics, and the ethical basis of international guidelines for public health.
